About the role
HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast Freestanding Emergency Department – N. Channel is an off-site 10-bed emergency department located at 6191 East Sam Houston Pkwy N, Houston, TX 77049.
Responsibilities
- Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for assigned patient
- Meeting the Standards of Practice for the Emergency Department (ED) and managing all assigned personnel, supplies and equipment
- Participate in activities to plan, measure, assess and improve the quality of patient care
- Routinely provides triage assessment for patients presenting for treatment
- Routinely performs venipunctures for obtaining specimens for lab tests
- Routinely provides intervention in emergency, life-threatening situations
- Assumes the responsibility of charging the department, as needed
Requirements
- Current Texas Licensure with State Board of Nurse Examiners
- Associates Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BLCLS) and Certification
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support Course (PALS) and Certification or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) within 3 months
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) within 3 months
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Training within 3 months
- Two years’ experience in Emergency Services (ER) (ED) (FSED)
