About the Role

Provides individualized patient care in the Float Pool for the Emergency Department at HCA HealthONE Rose, floating to Rose Main ER, Central Park Freestanding ER, and Sloan's Lake Freestanding ER. This care is based on the physical, psychosocial, cultural, safety, and learning needs of patients across all age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.

Performs delegated duties consistent with the scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care at Rose Medical Center. Collaborates with ED techs to maintain supplies, stock, and equipment. Also performs lab testing as assigned, following protocols, safety guidelines, and quality control procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe and appropriate patient care within the standards of nursing practice at RMC.
  • Demonstrate good organizational skills and ability to plan and deliver nursing services.
  • Display appropriate judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Address customer and staff concerns effectively.
  • Perform daily quality control checks as assigned.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with staff, physicians, EMS personnel, patients, and families.
  • Maintain current certificates and competencies; actively participate in Unit Based Council, committees, and staff meetings.
  • Perform lab testing based on protocol, document results, and communicate critical findings as defined.
  • Follow lab testing safety guidelines, complete maintenance and QC documentation, and initiate corrective actions as needed.
  • May float to other areas and perform only those duties for which there is demonstrated competency.

Requirements

  • Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate Registered Nurse license.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Current NRP certification through AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics).
  • TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) and ENPC (Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course) required within 6 months of hire date (ENPC only required for initial certification).
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing; BSN preferred.
  • 2 or more years of Emergency Room RN experience (may be modified at the discretion of the Director).
  • Educational records (diploma or transcript) are mandatory for staff performing non-waived testing.

Pay

Hourly wage estimate: $39.00 - $57.00. The estimate represents the typical wage range for candidates hired. Actual salary may be determined by specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees in the role. The typical candidate is hired below the midpoint of the range.
