Registered Nurse Emergency Room
About the Role
As a Registered Nurse, you will coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, you will provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will serve as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers while modeling a commitment to the organization's vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s).
- Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Perform exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests and strive to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
- Teach patients, families, and caregivers about patient medical conditions, status, treatment plans, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translate complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and other lifestyle changes.
- Prepare patients and families/caregivers for future self-management.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
- No travel required
