Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with department requirements and consistent with scope and standards of practice.
• Provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage."
• Serve as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers while modeling the organization’s vision, mission, and values.
• Assess patient pain regularly and promote effective pain management, including reassessments after interventions.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and proactively anticipate and resolve patient needs.
• Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, patient status, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures.
• Translate complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
• Educate patients and families on non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes.
• Prepare patients and families for future self-management.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Colorado or multistate license.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN preferred).
• One or more years of acute or critical care RN experience preferred.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date).
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date).
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date).
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date).
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date).
