About the Role

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." The RN serves as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers while modeling a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical provider(s).
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and strive to anticipate patient needs proactively.
• Teach patients, families, and caregivers about patient medical conditions, status, treatment plans, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, translating complex medical terminology for complete understanding.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about non-medicinal follow-up measures such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes.
• Prepare patients and families for future self-management.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current State of Florida Registered RN License, or recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including ongoing eligibility and duration provisions).
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certification via American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• CPI Certification.
• A minimum of one year of acute care Medical/Surgical/Tele RN experience.
• One or more years working as an ER RN in an Acute Care Hospital (preferred).
