Registered Nurse - Emergency Department - RN

About the role

This position is for experienced Registered Nurses only. The Emergency Department is a primary tertiary referral facility, a Level 1 Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and VAD Center. The ED sees approximately 75,000 patients annually and interacts with nearly every specialty in the medical center.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care.
• Support professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family.
• Delegates patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and availability of resources.
• Possesses excellent communication skills; is skillful in mentoring and teaching; may participate on committees or projects.
• May be required to drive a personal vehicle as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program, as recognized by ACEN, CCNE, or NLN CNEA.
• One year of RN experience required; two years preferred in an ED or critical care setting.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Computer skills required, prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends.
• Demonstrated leadership, effective communicator, and excellent critical thinking skills.
