Registered Nurse - Emergency Department - Per Diem Evenings

Responsibilities

• Delivers nursing practices based on evidence-based research and standards of care.
• Performs comprehensive data collection and assessment, focusing on physiologic, psychological, and cognitive status.
• Develops and coordinates a plan of care that includes age and disease-specific patient-centered goals and interventions.
• Communicates with patients, families, and other healthcare team members to ensure clear understanding of care plans and progress.
• Administers medications using advanced technologies to ensure safe medication delivery.
• Maintains continuity of care during patient transitions and multi-disciplinary discharges.
• Evaluates patient progress and implements necessary interventions based on clinical observations and responses.
• Adapts to ethical issues in the practice setting and addresses them appropriately.
• Learns and adapts to new protocols and technologies to improve patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing.
• BSN in progress and willing to obtain within three years of hire.
• Current and valid Registered Nurse license at the assigned HMH location by date of hire.
• BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
• Six or more months of relevant nursing experience or participation in HMH's Nurse Residency Program.
• The ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing patient needs, and demonstrate strong patient focus.
• National Certification in area of specialty preferred.
