About the Role
North Central Surgical Center is a highly successful, Baylor Scott & White affiliated hospital located in Dallas, TX, performing over 12,000 procedures per year. We are seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team.
The nurse will interface with visitors, patients, family, and physicians on the phone and in person, assist with screening patients by obtaining a list of medications and completing the Patient History Assessment, and implement the nursing process. Responsibilities include performing needed pre-op testing, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and privacy, and providing evaluation and care for Emergency Department patients. This includes triage, initial assessment, notifying the E.D. physician of patient arrival and condition, implementing physician orders, and assisting with procedures as needed.
Responsibilities
- Interface with patients, families, visitors, and physicians in person and by phone.
- Screen patients by obtaining medication lists and completing Patient History Assessments.
- Implement the nursing process, including pre-op testing and ensuring patient safety, comfort, and privacy.
- Provide care for Emergency Department patients, including triage, initial assessment, and notifying the E.D. physician of patient arrival and condition.
- Implement physician orders and assist with procedures as needed.
Requirements
- Current Texas RN licensure or compact license.
- Current BLS certification.
- ACLS and PALS certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Minimum of two years of previous Emergency Department experience.
