About the role

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department (ED) – Level 1 Trauma Center. This full-time, evening shift position (11:00 AM – 11:00 PM) offers a sign-on bonus for qualified candidates and relocation assistance. The Emergency Department is a 53-bed unit, with approximately 10% of cases being trauma-related. Sentara Norfolk General’s ED is one of only 94 in the U.S. to receive the Lantern Award from the Emergency Nurses’ Association, recognizing exceptional leadership, practice, education, advocacy, and research.

As the region’s first Magnet Hospital, Sentara Norfolk General is a 525-bed medical center and primary teaching facility, home to the area’s only Level 1 Trauma Center within a 126-mile region. The facility includes four intensive care units and a 112-bed Nationally Ranked Heart Hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and admit patients
  • Perform rounding checks
  • Administer medications
  • Communicate with family members
  • Provide overall patient care

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is a 525-bed tertiary care facility and the region’s only Level I Adult Trauma Center and burn trauma unit. It serves as the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School and is home to:
