About the role
Baptist Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department team at Baptist Emergency at Silverleaf, a new free-standing Emergency Department opening Fall 2026. This modern facility will expand access to high-quality emergency care for residents of St. Johns County and surrounding areas, designed with efficiency and patient experience in mind.
Responsibilities
- Provide care to patients requiring treatment of any medical, surgical, or other condition
- Embrace and uphold the hospital mission statement
- Educate patients and families on their disease process and plan of care
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
- Coordinate care provided by ancillary services
- Serve as a patient advocate
- Participate in staff meetings and unit-based initiatives
- Provides for patient needs through use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement
- Organization and supervision of care provided by supportive personnel
- Coordinate care provided by ancillary services, including patients and significant others (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care
- Education of patients/SO/families to their disease process and plan of care
Requirements
- 1–2 years Medical Surgical Nursing Experience
- Emergency Department Experience Preferred
- Hospital Experience
- Telemetry Experience
- Diploma Nurses must have 5+ years of progressive care
Qualifications
- Associate of Science in Nursing Required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing Preferred
- Licensed Registered Nurse Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Preferred
- Certified Emergency Registered Nurse (CEN) Preferred
- Conscious Sedation Certification Preferred
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification Preferred
- Trauma Nurse Core Course Certification (TNCC) Preferred
Schedule
- Full-Time opportunity working Nights shift
- 36 hours per week
- Scheduled shifts: 7:00PM–7:00AM
