Registered Nurse, Emergency Department, Full-Time, Nights, Baptist ED North

About the Role

Baptist Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department team at Baptist ED North. This is a Full-Time, Night shift opportunity with a 36-hour per week commitment, working 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM. Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, and emergent conditions
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and plans of care
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, high-quality care
• Coordinate services provided by ancillary departments to support optimal patient outcomes
• Serve as a patient advocate, promoting patient safety, dignity, and satisfaction
• Uphold and embody the mission, vision, and values of Baptist Health
• Participate in staff meetings, unit-based initiatives, and continuous quality improvement activities
• Provide for patient needs as recognized through use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement
• Organize and supervise care provided by supportive personnel
• Coordinate care provided by ancillary services
• Include patients and significant others (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care
• Educate patients/SO/families to their disease process and plan of care
• Serve as patient advocate and provide care to patients requiring treatment of any medical, surgical, or other condition, including chronic medical and minor injuries or illnesses

Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing Required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Preferred; ACLS required within 6 months for the Adult EDs and Free Standing EDs
• Certified Emergency Registered Nurse (CEN) Preferred
• Conscious Sedation Certification Preferred
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification Preferred
• Trauma Nurse Core Course Certification (TNCC) Preferred
• PALS required within 1 year of hire for the Free Standing EDs and required within 6 months for WCH ED

Experience

• 1-2 years Medical Surgical Nursing Experience
• Telemetry Experience
• Emergency Department Experience Preferred
• Hospital Experience

Location

This position is based in the Emergency Department at Baptist ED North, located at Baptist Emergency at Dunn Avenue in Jacksonville, FL. Primary Location: North - Main Building Freestanding ED.
