About the role

Baptist Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department team at Baptist ED North, located at Baptist Emergency at Dunn Avenue. This full-time, night shift opportunity involves a 36-hour per week commitment, working 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM. The Baptist North Emergency Center is located at the northeast intersection of I-295 and Dunn Avenue, bringing high-quality care to residents of northwest Jacksonville.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, and emergent conditions.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and plans of care.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
• Coordinate services provided by ancillary departments to support optimal patient outcomes.
• Serve as a patient advocate, promoting patient safety, dignity, and satisfaction.
• Uphold and embody the mission, vision, and values of Baptist Health.
• Participate in staff meetings, unit-based initiatives, and continuous quality improvement activities.
• Include patients and significant others/families in developing an individualized plan of care.
• Educate patients, significant others, and families about disease processes and plans of care.
• Provide care to patients requiring treatment of any medical, surgical, or other condition, including chronic medical and minor injuries or illnesses.

Requirements

• Associate of Science in Nursing (Required)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Preferred)
• Licensed Registered Nurse (Required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)
• 1-2 years of Medical Surgical Nursing experience
• Telemetry experience
• Emergency Department experience (Preferred)
• Hospital experience

Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (Preferred, required within 6 months for Adult EDs and Free Standing EDs)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (Required within 1 year of hire for Free Standing EDs and within 6 months for Wolfson Children's Hospital ED)
• Certified Emergency Registered Nurse (CEN) (Preferred)
• Conscious Sedation Certification (Preferred)
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification (Preferred)
• Trauma Nurse Core Course Certification (TNCC) (Preferred)
