We are North Shore Medical Center, offering continuous nursing, medical, and other health and social services on a 24-hour basis under physician-directed care and RN supervision. About the role
As a Registered Nurse in our Emergency Department, you will provide direct nursing care in settings requiring complex assessments and interventions, following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
Responsibilities
- Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health and situation.
- Triage each patient using age-appropriate, developmentally sensitive, and culturally aware practices to prioritize care and optimize patient flow, expediting those requiring immediate attention.
- Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues.
- Identify expected outcomes for individualized care plans.
- Implement, coordinate, and educate to promote health and a safe practice environment.
- Evaluate progress toward patient outcomes.
- Communicate effectively in various formats across all practice areas.
- Demonstrate leadership in professional practice and the nursing profession.
- Maintain current knowledge and competence in nursing practice.
- Apply evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge to emergency nursing, ensuring care aligns with age-specific and clinical needs as described in the department’s Scope of Service.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Constant use of speech for oral communication.
- Constant standing and walking.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
- Frequent sitting, reaching, and keyboard use/data entry.
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for near and far distances, including color distinction.
- Frequent use of smell to detect odors.
- Frequent use of hearing to receive communication, distinguish body sounds, and hear alarms or malfunctioning equipment.
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
- Occasional lifting or moving of patients.
- Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, and repetitive foot/leg or hand/arm movements.
Requirements
- Current Florida RN License.
- Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
- Basic arrhythmia skills.
- Completion of ICU or ER course preferred.
- Ability to communicate in English.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Must pass background and drug test screenings.
Pay
Hourly pay is negotiable based on experience. We offer competitive market pay and opportunities for bonuses based on performance (full-time only).
