Registered Nurse - Emergency Department - Full Time - Days

General Summary

Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and implements patient care plans based on assessment data.
• Delegates tasks to other members of the health care team, ensuring that they understand their responsibilities and are competent to perform them.
• Evaluates patient progress and modifies care plans as needed.
• Communicates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
• Teaches patients and families about their health conditions and treatment plans.
• Ensures compliance with hospital policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.

Qualifications

• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
• Health care provider certification (BCLS).
