Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Responsibilities

• Maintains a high standard of professional practice and demonstrates accountability for personal performance.
• Provides comprehensive care to patients and families, addressing their psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs.
• Administers medications and treatments according to protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, and care provided accurately and promptly.
• Evaluates patient progress and adjusts care plans accordingly.
• Identifies learning needs and educates patients, family members, and caregivers about their health conditions and treatments.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
• One year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.
• BLS required.
• RN License in state of employment or compact.
• A current ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certification required.

Qualifications

• Newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within 30 days of hire.
• Precepted by a designated staff member and validated through successful completion of organizational entry competency validation and an Emergency Department-specific competency validation.
• All newly licensed RNs must complete annual competency verification requirements.
• Credential Grace Periods: ACLS, PALS, TNCC within 30 days of hire or 90 days of hire, respectively.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
