Registered Nurse - Emergency

Full-time position working 36 hours per week, 3×12-hour shifts. Rotating days, evenings, and nights; steady night shifts available if preferred. Requires rotating weekend and holiday coverage as per time and attendance policy.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care practicing legal nursing responsibilities as indicated by the Nurse Practice Act.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing.
• Current Pennsylvania licensure; other state licensure as required.
• One of the following experience sets:
  • One year Emergency Department or Critical Care experience, or
  • Two years of telemetry nursing experience, or
  • Three years of Medical-Surgical Nursing experience.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within a 6-month introductory period.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within one year of start date.
• Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.
• Two years of acute-care nursing experience and two years of Emergency Department experience.
• Certification in ED specialty area.

In the absence of qualified candidates in the above-referenced areas, applicants with the following will be considered: Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing, current Pennsylvania licensure (other state licensure as required), and Basic Cardiac Life Support. Applicable training and orientation will be provided.
