Registered Nurse - ED Surge/ Inpatient holding/Float Pool - F/T Days

About the role

The Registered Nurse at Hackensack Meridian Health is responsible for delivering safe and excellent individualized patient care. They assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for a variety of complex patients, working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Collects comprehensive data for patient health or situation assessment.
• Develops a plan of care that includes strategies and interventions to achieve expected outcomes.
• Administers medications using bar-scanning and documentation technologies.
• Coordinates patient discharge to ensure safe transitions and continuity of care.
• Evaluates patient progress towards achieving outcomes.
• Advises on ethical issues and enhances patient satisfaction.
• Lifts a minimum of 35 lbs., pushes/pulls a minimum of 10 lbs., and stands for a minimum of 6 hours per day.

Qualifications

• Current and valid New Jersey Nursing license.
• American Heart Association (AHA) BLS/CPR certification.
• Minimum 1 year of acute care RN experience (preferred).
• National certification preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or willing to acquire within 3 years of hire.
• Quick learning ability, strong sense of accountability, and dedication to ongoing education.
• Exceptional teamwork, multi-tasking, and time management skills.
