Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients requiring treatment of any medical, surgical, or other condition
• Embrace and uphold the hospital mission statement
• Educate patients and families to their disease process and plan of care
• Interact with physicians and other departments within the hospital
• Coordinate care provided by ancillary services
• Act as the patient advocate
• Participate in staff meetings and other unit activities
• Utilize the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) to meet patient needs
• Supervise care provided by supportive personnel
• Include patients and significant others/families in developing an individualized plan of care
• Serve as patient advocate and provide care to critical patients requiring higher acuity

Qualifications

• Education: Associate of Science in Nursing required; Bachelor of Arts/Science (BA/BS) preferred
• Experience: 1-2 years cardiac experience preferred; 1-2 years telemetry experience preferred; hospital experience required
• Licenses & Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred; Conscious Sedation certification preferred; Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) preferred; Licensed Registered Nurse required
• Note: Diploma nurses must have 5+ years of progressive care
