About the role
Join a critical care nursing team in a hospital setting, providing expert support outside of intensive care units.
Responsibilities
- Supporting bedside nurses in evaluating and managing unstable patients.
- Leading initial assessments of critically ill patients and implementing early interventions to prevent cardiopulmonary arrest.
- Guiding rapid response escalation and facilitating patient transfer to higher care levels.
- Monitoring post-ICU patients using clinical data and acuity scores.
- Collecting data on rapid response and code episodes to inform improvements.
- Participating in debriefs and applying evidence-based practices aligned with patient needs.
- Maintaining alertness and ensuring safety during all duties.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years' RN experience in critical, emergency, or progressive care.
- Current valid RN license in Missouri or a compact state.
- Certifications in BLS, and either ALS or PALS from AHA.
Skills
- Strong communication, observation, and assessment skills.
- Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, walking, standing, and data entry.
- Ability to recognize odors, hear alarms, and distinguish body sounds.
