Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in ICU settings, requiring complex assessments and interventions in accordance with established policies and protocols.
- Obtain comprehensive patient data from the patient, family, and other healthcare providers to develop a holistic understanding of the patient’s needs.
- Analyze and synthesize assessment data to determine relevant diagnoses or conditions.
- Identify optimal outcomes in collaboration with the patient, family, and care team.
- Develop and implement a care plan using clinical judgment, coordinating with the patient, family, and team to promote a safe environment.
- Evaluate progress toward goals and outcomes, contributing to the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
- Maintain current knowledge and competence, evaluating personal practice and integrating best evidence into care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team.
- Apply evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge to critical care nursing, ensuring care aligns with patient age-specific and clinical needs.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and safety.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current Florida RN License.
- Current BLS and ACLS Certification.
- Basic Arrhythmia Skills.
- Completion of a Critical Care Course preferred.
- Computer skills.
- 1 year of Critical Care (ICU) experience preferred.
- Must pass background and drug test screenings.
Physical Requirements
- Constant use of speech for oral communication.
- Constant standing and walking.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
- Frequent sitting, reaching, and keyboard use/data entry.
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for near and far distances, including color distinction.
- Frequent use of smell to detect odors.
- Frequent use of hearing to receive oral communication, distinguish body sounds, and hear alarms or malfunctioning machinery.
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
- Occasional lifting or moving of patients.
- Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, and repetitive foot/leg or hand/arm movements.
Schedule
- 12-hour shifts available for nights (7:00 PM start) and nights (7:00 AM start).
