Registered Nurse Crisis Center PRN

About the Role

This position is accountable for the provision of patient care and other activities as permitted by licensure and defined within Credentialing and Privileging documentation (hospital), Credentialing and Scope of Practice (Medical Group), Consultation and Referral Plan (DOPL), or other similar documentation. The role involves delivering optimal patient care through effective clinical practice, education of patients and families, consultation with healthcare providers, and maintaining current clinical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments to obtain complete and accurate clinical records and medical symptoms.
• Order tests and exams to gather additional information for patient care.
• Diagnose patient needs and develop a plan of care based on assessments.
• Interpret patient care tests and exams to guide treatment decisions.
• Provide and oversee patient treatment, including prescriptive practice, to achieve optimal clinical outcomes.
• Utilize advanced specialty knowledge to ensure care is appropriate, effective, timely, and cost-efficient.
• Perform diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures as defined by Scope of Practice.
• Document clinical care accurately, ensuring records are detailed, complete, and compliant with standards.
• Code and bill accurately per established protocols.
• Conduct and coordinate education for patients, families, and clinical staff to support the continuum of care.
• Train other staff in areas of clinical expertise and provide teaching to students as appropriate.
• Stay current with healthcare trends and participate in continuing medical education.
• Coordinate and collaborate patient care efforts with other providers, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
• May participate in research and utilize evidence-based practice to promote quality patient care, protocol development, and best practice standards.

Requirements

• Current state license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).
• Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (credentialing requirement).
• Eligible for State Controlled Substance License II through V.
• Eligible for Federal DEA Certificate II through V.
• BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Other certifications as required (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NRP).
• Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Applicable certification from a recognized certifying organization (e.g., ANCC or AANP).
• Relevant clinical experience as defined by position leadership.

• Effective verbal communication and active listening, especially in emergency situations.
• Manual dexterity for operating complex medical equipment and frequent computer use.
• Physical ability to lift, transfer, and ambulate patients, including bending, pushing, and pulling heavy items.
• Ability to navigate crowded and busy clinical environments.
• Capability to stand for extended periods.

Pay

The hourly range for this position is $63.07 - $97.30, dependent upon experience.
