Registered Nurse - Corrections

About the role

A Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse (RN or LPN) is needed in a Corrections setting. The position offers local or travel contract opportunities with a shift of Nights, 36 hours per week (3x12). The nurse will float between hospital and jail units with inmates.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to inmates in a corrections setting
• Assist with daily living activities and health needs
• Document patient care in accordance with hospital policies
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and team meetings
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for inmates

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in the past 3 years in Corrections or Hospital Acute Care (ICU/ED/MS etc.) settings
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS - AHA or Red Cross) certification
• Valid New Mexico or Compact RN or LPN license
• Active New Mexico or Compact RN or LPN license
• Current driver’s license
