About the role
The Acute Care Cardiology Unit (ACCU) is an integral part of the Heart Institute and provides comprehensive cardiac care for complex medical and surgical patients. The Clinical Manager will provide programmatic leadership of the clinical component in their assigned areas to ensure quality patient care outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Leadership - Provide programmatic leadership of the clinical component in their assigned areas to ensure quality patient care outcomes.
- Develop and implement goals, standards, policies, educational programs, procedures and practices in alignment with the strategic plan.
- Mentor and provide learning and development opportunities for direct reports.
- Ensure workforce communication and approaches that represent our Core Values and cultural competence.
- Demonstrate consistent integration of the Interprofessional Practice Model (IPM) in all aspects of practice.
- Integrate shared governance and shared decision making with leadership practices.

- Compliance - Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. Ensure quality and adherence to standards by utilizing auditing and quality assurance approaches. Facilitate interdisciplinary involvement and knowledge of compliance standards, status, and actions.
- Partner with department leaders of Center for Professional Excellence (CPE) and Accreditation Services to improve staff performance, compliance and documentation.
- Assure all reporting staff have required competence, education and their clinical performance represents standards of compliance.
- Facilitate the knowledge and actions of employees with appropriate policies and standards of performance.
- Operations - Serve as a point of contact and resource for the daily operations. Research and resolve operational questions and problems as they arise. Provide oversight and guidance in the day to day patient staffing. Evaluate and adjust resource allocation based on patient needs and system factors. Establish and maintain procedures for orientation of new employees. Ensure integration of annual operational goals into daily practice. Address problem trends, develop, plan and implement solutions to improve processes and work flow for both individuals and systems for which teams work.

- Financial Management - Engage with the day to operations that impact productivity. Conduct analysis, partner with others in decisions around resource allocation and recognize the impact of decisions on productivity. Collaborate with director to develop, implement and evaluate the department's annual operating and capital budget to achieve the organizational and departmental objectives. Monitor financial performance and assist in the reporting of financial results. Evaluate variances, determine underlying causes, and establish proposed solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with 3+ years of work experience in Nursing.
- Active RN License in Ohio.
- Cardiology experience preferred.
- Leadership experience preferred.

Benefits
Annual pay may vary based on FTE status. Hours: full time - 40hrs per week for evening shifts.
Pay
Starting pay is based on experience, skills, and equity; exceptions may apply for highly qualified candidates. Additional pay (e.g., shift, on-call, or weekend differentials) and benefits may apply.
