About the Role
The Registered Professional Nurse on the Clearview Treatment Unit provides professional and comprehensive nursing care to patients by assessing and treating actual or potential health problems. This role functions within a multidisciplinary team, offering supportive services to patients and delivering care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation tailored to the ages of patients served. The nurse maintains departmental policies, quality improvement programs, safety, environmental, and infection control standards, and ensures confidentiality of all hospital and staff information. The position aligns with the philosophy and mission of Catholic Health, emphasizing quality care with respect for individual human dignity.
Responsibilities
- Assess and treat patients’ health problems in a professional and comprehensive manner.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to provide supportive services.
- Deliver patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Maintain established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality improvement programs, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Uphold confidentiality of all hospital and staff information.
- Incorporate the philosophy and mission of Catholic Health, focusing on quality care and individual human dignity.
- Perform administrative tasks such as answering telephones, establishing filing systems, maintaining logs/patient charts, proof-reading documents, researching information, scheduling appointments, and operating clinical computer information systems, fax machines, and photocopiers.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Limited Permit by New York State Department of Education (must be completed and on file).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within sixty (60) days from time of placement.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Qualifications
- On-the-job training provided.
- Previous behavioral health and chemical dependency experience preferred.
Schedule
- Night shift: 6:45 PM – 7:00 AM.
- Weekend and holiday rotation required.
