About the role

Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital seeks a dynamic Registered Nurse to join our dedicated team in the Surgery Room Department. This position is responsible for unit management, patient care, and performance improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates the organization and management of the unit.
  • Contributes to the provision of safe, quality patient care.
  • Prepares shift assignments and monitors unit activities.
  • Schedules and reassigns staff as needed.
  • Notifies supervisors of patient conditions and unusual occurrences.
  • Evaluates, monitors, and documents patient and situation progress.
  • Makes rounds with physicians and delegates patient care as necessary.
  • Coordinates patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Assists in correcting disciplinary issues and communicating with the Director of Patient Care.
  • Conducts monthly meetings with shift employees and submits minutes.
  • Directs staff during emergency situations and drills.
  • Reviews and updates safety and emergency procedures.
  • Participates in performance improvement meetings and studies.
  • Provides patient education and assists in their learning process.
  • Evaluates and documents the effectiveness of patient/family learning.

Requirements

  • Current licensure as a professional registered nurse in the state of Georgia or North Carolina.
  • Current certification in CPR.
  • Two to four years of progressive nursing experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Leadership skills and/or advanced education in leadership.
  • Knowledge of rehabilitation nursing preferred.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a baccalaureate or associate degree or a diploma.
  • Proficiency in the principles, concepts, and techniques of nursing and management.
  • Verbal and communication skills for interpersonal relations and presenting information.
  • Ability to assess and analyze situations and employees.
  • Physical requirements including visual acuity, manual dexterity, and mobility.

Pay

$41.10 - $61.65 per hour

Schedule

1st Shift - 40 hours per week
