The Charge Nurse is a registered nurse responsible for assisting the nurse manager/director in coordinating patient care, unit activities, and staff performance during their shift. Provides clinical leadership by making patient and staff assignments, delegating tasks, and ensuring quality care based on patient needs and acuity.Supervises, evaluates, and supports staff development, serving as a mentor and role model for professional growth.Serves as a resource for quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and service recovery efforts.Addresses immediate issues, troubleshoots problems, and communicates effectively with team members and leadership.Acts as a representative on committees and supports unit operations in the absence of management. Qualifications include: RN licensure, minimum one year of clinical experience, current certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS), and knowledge of nursing standards. Preferred candidates hold a BSN.
