Responsibilities
- Affirms patient flow and prepares patients for treatment, testing, and examination.
- Connects patients to ancillary services and maintains work area and exam rooms.
- Stocks supplies and medications, and performs other duties as assigned.
- Assesses unscheduled patients by level of urgency and prioritizes patient care.
- Facilitates emergent patients to appropriate care via intervention by provider and/or ambulance transport.
- Assists in patient education as needed or requested by Provider.
- Prepares the day’s flow of patients through the clinic when needed in provider practice.
- Maintains patient flow during the work day, ensuring that Provider and patient needs are met.
- Manages charge nurse and at times provider computer desktop flow on a daily basis.
- Administers and demonstrates knowledge of medications administered up to scope of licensure.
- Provides patient education or refers to appropriate education staff.
- Sends patients home with language specific instructions after review and understanding verification.
- Promotes a positive work culture and upholds clinic policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse license with the State of Washington.
- BLS for Healthcare Providers card.
- Basic level of written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with the processes and operations performed during the work day.
- Basic medical terminology/anatomy knowledge.
- Bi-lingual in English/Spanish preferred.
