Registered Nurse - Charge

Responsibilities

• Affirms patient flow and prepares patients for treatment, testing, and examination.
• Connects patients to ancillary services and maintains work area and exam rooms.
• Stocks supplies and medications, and performs other duties as assigned.
• Assesses unscheduled patients by level of urgency and prioritizes patient care.
• Facilitates emergent patients to appropriate care via intervention by provider and/or ambulance transport.
• Assists in patient education as needed or requested by Provider.
• Prepares the day’s flow of patients through the clinic when needed in provider practice.
• Maintains patient flow during the work day, ensuring that Provider and patient needs are met.
• Manages charge nurse and at times provider computer desktop flow on a daily basis.
• Administers and demonstrates knowledge of medications administered up to scope of licensure.
• Provides patient education or refers to appropriate education staff.
• Sends patients home with language specific instructions after review and understanding verification.
• Promotes a positive work culture and upholds clinic policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse license with the State of Washington.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers card.
• Basic level of written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with the processes and operations performed during the work day.
• Basic medical terminology/anatomy knowledge.
• Bi-lingual in English/Spanish preferred.
