About the Role

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the Cath Lab department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." The RN serves as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, modeling a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes.

Your voice to influence patient care is valued and empowered through open, collaborative relationships with your direct manager and formal opportunities through hospital councils and national nursing initiatives. You'll help shape decisions that elevate both patient outcomes and the future of nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses patient condition during admission and each shift as scheduled and/or as needed, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Assesses patient environment for safety risks and/or non-compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
  • Assesses patient condition for signs and symptoms of abuse or neglect; reports any indications to medical provider(s), nurse leader, and/or appropriate agency.
  • Serves as an example of professional nursing practice and promotes pride in nursing for the organization, community, and healthcare industry.
  • Demonstrates caring and empathy in all interactions and advocates for a patient- and family-centered approach in all decisions and actions.
  • Engages in evidence-based best practices that enhance the patient experience, including SAFETY rounding, bedside shift report, communication fundamentals/AIDET, Teach-Back, and Narrating Care.
  • Articulates a clear understanding of how to integrate patient experience behaviors into quality, safety, and nursing practice.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Registered Nurse Diploma
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date)

No travel required. No prior experience required.
