Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Surgical ICU

About the role

We are seeking a registered nurse to join our Cardiovascular Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CVSU), a 29-bed unit specializing in managing patients with severe cardiac, vascular, and thoracic conditions. The role offers full-time night shifts with a focus on delivering remarkable patient care and promoting diversity and inclusion in healthcare practice. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1–2:1.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide compassionate, evidence-based care.
• Manage critically ill patients, including those with cardiogenic shock, aortic dissection, and mechanical circulatory support, as well as post-surgical recovery.
• Act as a team leader and foster a patient-centered environment.
• Adhere to safety and quality standards.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN licensure.
• At least one year of CVICU experience or two years of ICU experience.

Skills

• Managing cardiac patients.
• Understanding EKG rhythms.
• Critical care competency.
• Preferred: telemetry or critical care experience.
