About the role
The registered nurse practices independently in a clinical setting, providing routine and complex patient care while demonstrating awareness of all relevant aspects of each situation. They are responsible for assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, and evaluating patient care according to the nursing process.
The nurse addresses patients' psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs, administers medications and treatments following protocols, monitors for side effects, and documents all care details. They also assess learning needs and educate patients, families, and caregivers to promote understanding and health management.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Delegate tasks appropriately to support staff.
- Administer and monitor treatments, medications, and therapies.
- Document all patient care details accurately and thoroughly.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on health management and care plans.
- Maintain compliance with organizational and professional standards to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Active RN license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Additional credentials such as PALS, TNCC, or NRP may be required within specified grace periods depending on experience level.
Qualifications
- Preferred Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- At least 1 year of relevant nursing experience.
Newly hired nurses undergo orientation and competency validation, with ongoing annual training requirements.
