About the role
This position involves providing specialized nursing care in a Burn Intensive Care Unit, caring for adult and pediatric patients with severe burns, frostbite, and necrotizing tissue disease. The unit has 8 inpatient beds and an outpatient clinic, and is allied with a verified adult and pediatric burn center.
Responsibilities
- Manage hemodynamic instabilities and complex wound care
- Perform sterile dressing changes and infection prevention protocols
- Handle surgical drains, mechanical ventilators, and CRRT
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including PCNAs, interns, surgeons, respiratory therapists, and child life specialists
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program
- Current Ohio RN licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- ACLS and PALS certifications within 6 months of hire
- Minimum 1 year RN experience for PRN roles; required certifications upon hire
Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
