Registered Nurse- Brain Stimulation Services
About the role
The Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) Nurse is responsible for coordinating and providing comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing ECT treatment across the continuum of care, including pre-procedure assessment, intra-procedural support, and post-anesthesia recovery monitoring. This role collaborates closely with psychiatrists, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered treatment delivery while maintaining compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards.
Responsibilities
- Provides patient and family education
- Maintains treatment response and side effects monitoring
- Supports quality and safety initiatives
- Aids in scheduling and care coordination
- Contributes to the ongoing development and optimization of neuromodulation services
Requirements
- Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred
- One year of work experience as a registered nurse required
- Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required
- Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required

- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time
- Proficiency in manual dexterity and fine motor skills
- Capacity to lift and move patients or medical equipment as needed
- Visual acuity and color perception
- Auditory ability to effectively communicate with patients and colleagues
