Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health

Role Overview: Provides comprehensive nursing care for behavioral health, psychiatric, substance use, and emotional crisis patients in a fast-paced emergency setting. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality care, utilizing evidence-based assessments, therapeutic communication, and crisis stabilization techniques. Key Responsibilities Conducts assessments including behavioral health and suicide risk evaluations.Addresses physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families.Develops and implements individualized care plans, including patient education and discharge planning.Administers treatments, medications, and diagnostic procedures per policies.Evaluates intervention effectiveness and adjusts care plans accordingly.Collaborates with physicians, social workers, and team members to resolve patient needs.Participates in quality, safety, and evidence-based practice initiatives.Provides crisis interventions, monitors for risks like withdrawal or aggression, and maintains safety protocols.Serves as a behavioral health resource for ED staff. Qualifications & Skills Minimum of 1 year behavioral health experience; 2 years preferred.Graduate from a specialty nursing program; Bachelor's degree preferred.Strong communication, de-escalation, and crisis management skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Additional Details: Night shift with flexible self-scheduling, every other weekend and holiday. The role involves working in the EmPATH unit or general ED behavioral health care, ensuring safety, and providing compassionate patient care.
