Essential Functions
- Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
- Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
- Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
- Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
- Completes and revises the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
- Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
- Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities
- Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner
- Maintains monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families
- Aids patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation)
- Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs)
- Assesses learning needs and delivers age-/culture-appropriate patient and family education
- Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient
- Participates in unit and organizational performance improvement and required continuing education
- Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may be assigned on-call
- Performs other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include: Basic Life Support certification is required. ACLS and PALS are required. One year of experience preferred. ASLS certification preferred.
