Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health - 36 hours - Midnights

About the role

The inpatient psychiatric unit at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital is a 38-licensed bed adult unit caring for both voluntary and involuntary patients with a mental illness. Our multidisciplinary treatment team consists of Nurses, Behavioral Health Technicians, Case Managers, Occupational and Recreational Therapists, Psychiatrists, a Nurse Practitioner, and a Clinical Psychologist. The unit has an engaged leadership team of the Director of Behavioral Health Services, Nurse Manager, Assistant Clinical Manager, and Unit Educator.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care while working with patients, their families and other community partners to ensure appropriate level of care.
• Complete psychiatric assessments for patients presenting to the ED with a psychiatric chief complaint.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.

Qualifications

Knowledge of the Michigan Mental Health code and insurance authorization process.
