Registered Nurse -Bed Management - 36 - Midnights

This position supports our Southfield location, where training will be held. Cross-training will also take place in Novi.

Schedule

• Full-time, 36 hours per week
• Shift: Midnights
• Every other weekend and holiday rotations
• 6 weeks of in-person training
• Must be able to work on-site when needed

About the Role

Within the System Capacity Command Center (SC3), this role coordinates and optimizes patient flow across acute adult and pediatric facilities to promote quality, service excellence, patient- and family-centered care, and maximize throughput. These nurses own end-to-end patient flow processes as well as clinical and operational issues surrounding patient placement and care progression in partnership with medical and nursing staff. Functions as the liaison and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team and a variety of internal and external resources to meet patient flow objectives and resolve issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing
• Three (3) years of clinical experience, or direct capacity management experience (systems that support patient flow, transfer, clinical expediting, and admission processes)
• Experience facilitating patient placement, transfer, or clinical expediting preferred
• Experience with systems that support patient flow, admission, transfer, care progression, and discharge processes preferred
• Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and produce detailed and accurate work
• Excellent clinical knowledge and assessment skills to evaluate and prioritize patient placement
• Ability to assess and handle highly sensitive and confidential matters with considerable discretion and independent judgment
• Demonstrated positive work ethic and strong sense of teamwork/problem-solving with co-workers
• Understanding of Henry Ford Health policies and procedures preferred

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan
