Registered Nurse

Facility: Lakin Correctional Center • Location: West Columbia, WV

About the role

As a Registered Nurse in our facility, you'll do more than care for patients—you'll lead, teach, and advocate. Working closely with healthcare and correctional staff, you'll assess physical and mental health needs, administer medications, and guide treatment plans from start to finish. You'll play a key role in supporting patient education, making timely referrals, and helping maintain safety and standards across the unit. Whether you're managing medications, mentoring staff, or responding to a crisis, your skills will make a real impact every day. You'll restore dignity, build trust, and change lives.

Responsibilities

• Assess physical and mental health needs of justice-involved patients
• Administer medications and guide treatment plans
• Support patient education and make timely referrals
• Maintain safety and standards across the unit
• Lead, teach, and advocate for patients
• Respond to crises and mentor staff

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in the state of practice
• 1-2 years of nursing experience (correctional experience preferred)
• Active CPR certification
• Strong clinical and communication skills
• Adaptability in high-pressure settings
• Compassionate, nonjudgmental approach to patient care
