About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) oversees the medical, psychiatric, substance abuse, and nursing care for individuals served. The RN also serves as a clinical liaison for designated individuals until they are enrolled in services at another community facility.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates services with various public and private community health, mental health, and social service agencies to ensure appropriate services for individuals.
  • Assists individuals with preparation and recording of the service planning process.
  • Conducts assessments and treatment plans.
  • Provides individual and family counseling.
  • Participates in the development of educational curriculum.
  • Supervises and/or provides nursing treatment and monitoring, such as diabetes and blood pressure.
  • Responds to crisis calls for assessment and pertinent intervention as needed.
  • Coordinates the relationship with outside medical and nursing support services including pharmacy and laboratory services.
  • Administers medication as required by protocol.
  • Completes clinical documentation as required.
  • Keeps abreast of all federal and state regulations and laws and all Recovery Innovations policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
  • Understands and adheres to Recovery Innovations compliance standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policies.
  • Collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to continuously improve productivity, efficiency, recovery outcomes, and medical care.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Valid and current state-specific Nursing license (Compact licensure preferred).
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a behavioral health setting.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric medications and their indications, common side effects, reactions, and interactions of medications prescribed.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and problem solve.
  • Ability to conduct assessments and treatment plans.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Trauma Informed Care experience preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Must be able to pass de-escalation training, as defined by state requirements.
  • Must be at least 18 years old unless residing in a state where funder or government regulations set a different minimum age requirement.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality (HIPAA guidelines and regulations) and professionalism.
  • Must be able to pass a seven-year background check, substance abuse testing, and/or tuberculous testing (if applicable).
  • Must be able to pass education verification check.
  • Must be able to obtain designated fingerprinting clearance in applicable states.
  • Must be able to pass a three-year motor vehicle report and meet minimum eligibility requirements criteria of insurance carrier (if driving is required for this position).
  • A Nursing Competency Checklist must be completed as part of the new hire onboarding process.

Pay

$36.00 - $39.00/hour with a $12,000 retention bonus.

Schedule

7:00pm - 7:30am (Rotating schedule nights)

Crisis - Durham, NC

Physical Demands

  • May include work close to the eyes and substantial motions of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, handling, finger dexterity; eye-hand-foot coordination, use of corrected vision; color vision; use of auditory senses.
  • May be required to lift up to twenty (20) pounds.

Work Environment

  • May work in an office environment or behavioral health facility.
  • May have contact with individuals who are agitated and/or confused.
  • Work may include travel throughout the geographic region.
