Registered Nurse

About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) is the health care professional who will work with clients and their families to assess the healthcare needs, education, and support required to reach and/or maintain the client’s optimum health status. The RN will ensure that all clients receive the highest quality of care which will enable them to remain in their home and in their community of choice.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all standards and guidelines established by the State Board of Nursing, Department of Health, and A First Name Basis (AFNB).
• Perform all client assessments within the guidelines of the respective governing bodies and AFNB. Determine if AFNB is capable of providing appropriate services to meet the medical needs of potential and/or current clients.
• Conduct assessments on each client identified as in need of services at least annually, and/or following any hospital admits or ED visits.
• Utilize assessments to develop the client’s annual Comprehensive Plan of Care and revisions, if applicable.
• Delegate, educate, and monitor approved non-complex tasks to Caregivers as identified by the client’s individual and specific needs.
• Responsible for initial and ongoing client care trainings of all Administrative Staff and Caregivers within their work location.
• Complete and provide required documentation for client-specific assessments and delegation within the guidelines of the State Board of Nursing, Department of Health, and AFNB.
• Ensure Caregivers meet all training and competency requirements to adequately perform identified non-complex tasks through documentation.
• Document all necessary aspects of client care and Caregiver interactions to ensure compliance with all guidelines.
• Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

Requirements

• Must have a valid State RN License in the state in which they are working.
• One year of experience in home care, health care, or a senior-related industry (preferred).
• Knowledge or experience working with payroll systems and processes.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Office/administrative support skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have consistent, reliable transportation to commute to client homes within territory.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment with competing priorities.

Pay

$40–45 an hour
