Registered Nurse- Assisted Living

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care and clinical oversight to residents in accordance with care plans, physician orders, and facility policies
  • Perform assessments, monitor health conditions, and respond to resident needs and changes in condition
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
  • Cook up coordination with physicians, pharmacists, families, and other healthcare professionals
  • Supervise and support care staff, ensuring high standards of care and compliance with regulations
  • Document nursing notes, assessments, and interventions accurately and timely
  • Participate in care planning, quality assurance, and resident-centered care initiatives
  • Educate residents and families on health-related topics and medications as needed

Qualifications

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Iowa
  • Previous experience in assisted living, long-term care, or a similar healthcare setting preferred
  • Strong clinical, communication, and leadership skills
  • Empathy, professionalism, and a genuine desire to enhance residents’ quality of life

Requirements

  • Active Iowa RN License – Must hold a current, valid license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Iowa.
  • CPR Certification – Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers required.
  • Clinical Experience Preferred – Prior nursing experience in assisted living, long-term care, or a related healthcare setting is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong Communication Skills – Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with residents, families, staff, and medical professionals.
  • Leadership and Teamwork – Ability to lead and supervise care staff, support teamwork, and promote a positive work environment.
  • Resident-Focused Attitude – A passion for senior care and the ability to advocate for residents’ dignity, health, and emotional well-being.
  • Organizational Skills – Must be able to manage multiple priorities, respond to emergencies calmly, and complete documentation accurately and timely.
  • Flexibility – Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends, holidays, or on-call shifts as needed.
  • Physical Requirements – Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and assist residents with mobility as necessary.
