About the role

The Clinical Nurse at Indiana University Health is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of competent, evidence-based care along the care continuum, including assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This position performs duties associated with direct patient care and quality assurance activities.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, directs, provides, and assists in the evaluation of total patient care in collaboration with providers.
  • Assures completeness of ordered procedures and treatments, instructs patients concerning procedures, treatments, and needs, and ensures medical orders are carried out accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Performs duties associated with symptom management and direct in clinic patient care and/or telehealth patient care.
  • Supports the urgent care team in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Functions under the direction of the on-site provider, performing rapid patient triage, clinical assessments, and supporting procedures to ensure safe and efficient patient flow.

Requirements

  • Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); BSN preferred.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires 2 years experience in an ambulatory setting and 1 year of emergency room, urgent care, triage experience.

Qualifications

  • Graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Absolutely required to have the ability to coordinate a number of functions for a group of patients in an effective, timely manner.
  • Awareness and understanding of legal implications of patient care activities and performance as a Registered Nurse.

Pay

Increased pay scale for bedside nurses.

Schedule

Three 12-hour shifts per week (Days).
