Registered Nurse, Ambulatory Pediatrics, 28 Hours (Day/Evenings/Sat)

Position primarily responsible for professional performance and direct patient care, including nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and coordination of care for patients and their families across the health care continuum.

Responsibilities

• Act as an integral member of the healthcare team, participating in patient care coordination and transition of care along the care continuum.
• Focus on health promotion through prevention, education, and treatment in compliance with hospital policy and provider’s plan of care.
• Educate patients and families in self-care management and serve as a resource for various health topics.
• Establish trust and build therapeutically effective relationships with patients and families.
• Perform telephone triage and PIV skills (if applicable to role).
• Knowledge of childhood/adult immunization, DME, VNA, PA, and school forms.
• Familiarity with care coordination, transitions of care, and population health relevance to ambulatory practice.

Requirements

• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN, or BSN (BSN preferred). Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years if not already held.
• Current RN licensure in Massachusetts or ability to obtain reciprocity prior to start date.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date. PALS certification may be required for certain practice areas.
• 1-3 years of pediatric experience, preferably in an inpatient setting.
• 1-2 years of ambulatory experience preferred.

• Effective interpersonal and communication skills for healthcare team, patient, and family interactions.
• Organizational skills to set priorities and complete work efficiently.
• Multilingual skills (beyond English) preferred for patient populations served.
• Analytical ability to solve clinical nursing issues and conduct quality improvement projects.
• Ability to effectively delegate patient care activities.
• Physical ability to meet core job responsibilities in accordance with practice setting demands.
• Ability to manage stress effectively.

Pay

Compensation range: $38.05 - $75.33 per hour. Base pay is determined by education, experience, and licensure/certifications directly related to the position.

Schedule

Part-time, 28 hours per week. Days and evenings with rotating Saturdays.
