About the role
The position is located at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. It is a closed unit that cares for patients between the ages of 2-18 years. The program offers admission to children and adolescents in psychiatric crisis. The program is based on a short-term crisis intervention treatment model.
Responsibilities
- Care for patients between the ages of 2-18 years in psychiatric crisis.
- Staffed by nurses, patient care assistants, psychiatrists, psychologists, a music therapist, social workers, and specialty physicians.
- Includes a thorough assessment of the biological, medical, developmental, psychosocial, psychological, and educational skills and deficits that might contribute to the well-being of the child and family.
- May require driving a personal vehicle as part of the role responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a nursing program, as recognized by ACEN, CCNE, or NLN CNEA.
- One year of professional RN experience required.
- Current RN license by applicable state requirements.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) must be valid for 90 days post start date.
- Additional Specialty Certification/training as Required By The Work Area.
