Registered Nurse Acute (RN) - Family Birthing Center
Job Summary
Under the general direction of Nursing Leadership and in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse utilizes evidence-based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, and policies and procedures of the hospital. This position develops a plan of care for complex, multi-varianced population of patients, which includes standards of practice to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of the patient and family.

Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Associate’s degree in Nursing. Successful completion of nurse residency, if applicable.
- Experience: One year of experience with a minimum of 1000 hours of clinical experience as a licensed registered nurse.
Requirements
- Licensure, Certification, Registration: Registered Nurse, State of CT Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Additional certifications may be required in specific specialties

- Membership in a professional nursing organization preferred
- Demonstrated ability to develop, deliver and evaluate patient care
- Cares for a full patient assignment with expanding scope of responsibilities over time
- Knowledge of high reliability

- Uses communication skills to foster a healthy work environment and facilitate positive patient outcomes and experience
- Demonstrated cultural sensitivity in all interactions with patients/families and co-workers
- Strong knowledge of and demonstrated skills in providing care for age specific populations
- Strong ability to work as part of a collaborative team
- Ability to manage and organize multiple clinical priorities
- Strong computer skills and use of industry applications/programs
- Ability to learn new technology and programs as advancements and changes are implemented
