Responsibilities
- Provides and coordinates competent, evidence-based care along the care continuum
- Performs assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Participates in decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
- Advances the patient plan of care, achieves outcomes and enhances operational efficiency
The nurse adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements.
Requirements
- Associates of Nursing (ASN)
- Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license
- Graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program
Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
Certifications
- Basic Life Support certification through the AHA
- Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies
