Registered Nurse - $20k SIGN-ON

About the role

Cove Forge Behavioral Health Center in Williamsburg, Pennsylvania (Altoona metro area, ~100 miles east of Pittsburgh) provides comprehensive treatment for adults 18+ with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health concerns, offering detoxification, residential rehabilitation, and outpatient programming.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate care by assessing patients’ physical and behavioral health needs.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Maintain medical records and educate patients and families about physical and behavioral health conditions.
• Provide nursing care within state Nurse Practice Act standards and facility policies.
• Ensure physicians’ orders are legible if taken verbally and transcribed appropriately.
• Monitor patients’ status ongoing, gather and document pertinent information.
• Notify physicians of significant changes (detox difficulties, medical emergencies, medication response changes, etc.).
• Complete initial nursing treatment plans upon admission and ensure plans are specific to assessed needs.
• Demonstrate knowledge and use of universal precautions in direct patient care.
• Accurately administer medications per order.
• Document accurate count of controlled substance medication administration.
• Complete admission and discharge processing efficiently and accurately.
• Exhibit therapeutic rapport with patients while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Provide direction or coordinate unit activities as directed.
• Communicate therapeutically and professionally with patients, visitors, co‑workers, and others involved in treatment.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license as required by the state of employment, or eligibility to practice per state requirements.
• One year of nursing experience; psychiatric, mental, behavioral, or substance use nursing experience a plus.
• CPR and de‑escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.

Pay

Sign‑on bonus approximately $20,000 for full‑time positions.

Schedule

Full‑time evening shift: 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm; flexible scheduling with shift differentials.
