About the role

The position is located at VMC Main Campus in the Radiology Support Services department. It is a full-time, 1 FTE role with a salary range of $48.82 to $89.19 per hour. The shift is either day or evening.

Responsibilities

  • Affirms patient safety and quality care through the nursing process.
  • Assesses, guides, directs, and facilitates workflow on the unit.
  • Makes staff assignments based on patient acuity, continuity of care, and staff competency.
  • Mentors staff, float, and agency personnel regarding unit/department/hospital policies, procedures/standards, and annual goals and objectives.
  • Fires and evaluates nursing care provided to each patient, by direct observation, consultation, and patient rounds.
  • Maintains awareness of Joint Commission standards, state codes, and practice acts.
  • Maintains fiscal responsibility by monitoring and adjusting staffing during shift and determining staffing needs for the following shift.
  • Communicates and collaborates with bed placement and the clinical resource to ensure clinical placement is expedited.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Washington. Successful completion of a graduate nurse residency program orientation or six months' experience as a Registered Nurse. Current BLS certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Two years' practice in clinical nursing/leadership in area of responsibility preferred.
