About the role
The Registered Nurse 2 (Geriatrics) coordinates, directs, and provides professional nursing care to residents of the nursing home under the direction and supervision of the Assistant Director of Nursing/Director of Nursing. The role includes developing, updating, and monitoring nursing care objectives in treatment plans, administering nursing treatments, helping develop and participate in nursing orientation programs, reviewing records, discussing staff and program requirements with facility managers, and serving on various committees and workgroups concerned with individual treatment and care issues.
Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and monitor nursing care objectives in treatment plans for individuals and administer nursing treatments.
- Help develop and participate in nursing orientation programs which include education and training needs for nursing staff.
- Review records and discuss staff and program requirements with facility managers.
- Serve as a member of various committees and workgroups concerned with individual treatment and care issues or topics.
Requirements
To maintain employment, you must maintain your license and registration; failure to do so may result in removal from the position. Transfer eligibility: Current New York State employee with one or more years of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55 b/c service in a position allocated to Grade 18 or above, and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law to Registered Nurse 2 (Geriatric). Appointment type: One competitive full-time appointment, or non-competitive full-time appointment via HELPS.
