Registered Nurse 1 Temp Hourly

Duties Description

As a Registered Nurse 1 on an assigned shift, you will provide professional nursing services appropriate to individuals served by the program to which you are assigned. Services may include, but are not limited to, nursing interventions and their documentation, case finding, health teaching/counseling and provision of supportive and/or restorative care. You will also participate in staff training, prepare clinical and administrative reports, maintain infection control standards, and function as a member of a treatment team.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide coverage where nursing needs are high and staffing ratios are low.
• Perform duties such as injections, feedings, wound care, insertion of catheters, ostomy care, and nursing assessments.
• Provide nursing care oversight, chart health status, transcribe physician’s orders accurately, and ensure appropriate medical orders and follow-up appointments are communicated within the work location.
• Be provided with a mentor for training.

Qualifications

• Must have a license and a current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State.
• Note: You must have a valid driver's license to apply as travel is a part of the duties involved in this position.
