About the Role
The RN provides holistic and compassionate nursing care as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting clients in an inpatient or residential higher level of care (HLOC).
Schedule
Part-time position, 0.4 FTE (16 hours/week) with both evening and overnight shifts:
- Evening Shifts: 2:00pm - 10:30pm / 4:00pm - 12:30am
- Overnight Shifts: 10:00pm - 6:30am / 12:00am - 8:30am
- Every third weekend, overnight shifts 12:00am - 8:30am
Pay
Starting hourly range between $36.00 - $42.00. Final compensation offered will be within this pay range based on qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to identify nursing care needs, potential risks, and psychological challenges.
- Provide medication management including education, assessing adherence, administration in the inpatient and residential setting only, and monitoring for side effects in collaboration with provider.
- Assist and support medical and psychiatric providers with medical care coordination.
- Provide medical care coordination between patient, provider, staff, family, and outside care agencies as needed.
- Serve as a staff resource for client medical needs and information.
- Recognize and appropriately respond to medical and psychiatric emergencies.
- Responsible for accurate and timely documentation in the client medical record.
- Able to follow through with directives provided by a Nurse Manager or Lead Nurse when applicable.
- Partner with team effectively to maximize performance through use of communication skills, knowledge of team dynamics, and adaptation to change to ensure high quality of care.
- Drive clients, staff, and supplies in the company vehicle in emergencies as needed (Inpatient or Residential only).
- Process refills, laboratory procedures, EKGs, vitals, supply ordering and stocking, and triaging of calls.
- Assist staff to provide a safe environment for patient care.
- Adhere to policies and procedures as defined by the various programs including maintaining client confidentiality and client rights.
- Able to take initiative, utilize critical thinking skills, and resource to work autonomously when needed.
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
- Current licensure in state practicing or compact as a Registered Nurse required.
- Valid driver's license and authorization to drive.
- Current Basic Life Support certification required (American Heart Association) within 15 days from date of hire.
- Employees at Residential or Inpatient sites in North Carolina or Georgia are required to have a current CPI certification within 30 days of hire.
- Employees at Residential site in Washington are required to have a Washington State Department of Health Food Handler permit within 30 days of hire.
